We have rooms reserved with two hotels in the Uptown area, the Pontchartrain Hotel, the Garden District Hampton Inn and the Avenue Plaza Hotel. They are conveniently located near the chapel and reception, the Hampton Inn is at 3626 St. Charles Avenue, Avenue Plaza is at 2111 St. Charles, and The Pontchartrain is at 2031 St. Charles (next door to the Avenue Plaza). This will make getting to the wedding and reception extremely easy because you can take the Street Car that runs right in front of the hotels and not have to worry about parking (there is no parking for the chapel or reception except on the street). THE PONTCHARTRAIN HOTEL: Rooms are $89 per night (up to four people). Located at 2031 St. Charles Ave, it features beautifully appointed suites and the restaurant in the hotel is the original creator of the "Pontchartrain Sauce". Their rates are USUALLY in the expensive range, but we have a good rate for the wedding., $89 if you tell them you are with the Dugas/Swearingen wedding party. They will hold rooms until December 3rd. The nights I reserved are Wednesday January 3rd thru Monday January 8th. January is convention season and unpredictable as far as rooms go, so I recommend getting a hotel reserved ASAP. Last I checked all three hotels still have rooms even though it is past the date.
